As we head into the new year, it’s important to look back on everything that we accomplished. Whether it’s a promotion at work, a new bundle of joy in the family, or a personal goal reached, no achievement is too big or too small to celebrate. That’s why CenturyLink is highlighting the best tech gadgets of 2022. We want to commemorate the amazing, new technological innovations that changed the way we worked, played, and created in 2022.

Before you dive into this roundup, take a few minutes to explore our list of the top technology trends to watch in 2022. How many of these trends did you see or participate in?

Augmented Reality glasses

Assistive tech for students with disabilities

Augmented Reality (AR) is slowly creeping into our daily lives, bringing us one step closer to the Metaverse. With the newly-designed AR glasses, the days of clunky headsets are over. Private video streaming allows you to watch what you want, where you want, without an external screen.

VITURE One was named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2022.  Their XR glasses, Neckband, and Mobile Dock were all highly regarded by the magazine. The VITURE One glasses come with accessibility features, such as interchangeable nose plugs and lens dials that can be adjusted for near-sighted users. This device is also lightweight and features heat-releasing technology that makes them comfortable to wear for hours at a time. Paired with the Neckband, you’ll have access to your favorite streaming and gaming platforms while keeping your phone free for other tasks.

Apple Watch Ultra

The new Apple Watch Ultra hit the market in September 2022 and promises to be the future of fitness technology and health data. The watch is made with a durable titanium case and has up to 36 hours of battery life. It also gives you the option of three specialized bands designed for athletes and fitness fanatics. The new “Action” button gives you power over a variety of functions, allowing you to control a workout or mark a set location. The new safety feature, the siren, emits an 86-decibil call for help that can be heard up to 600 feet away. Apple’s new watch gives you maximum control over your workout, all while keeping you safe and enhancing your training.

C Seed unfolding TV

From screens that look like picture frames to elaborate, peek-a-boo entertainment centers, it’s popular to hide away your TV screen when it’s not in use. Now you have another option: Folding your TV directly into your floorboards. The C Seed M1 unfolding TV uses MicroLED panels that unfold to create a 4K TV. You won’t see any creases on the screen, as Seed uses separate panels to make the borders nearly invisible.

On your folding TV, you can watch livestreams and virtual concerts. To learn more about streaming options, check out the best live TV streaming services.

Sony Linkbuds

These earbuds are extremely unique, as you can wear them around the clock while still being able to hear what’s going on around you. Sony’s Linkbuds feature a hole in them that allows you to stay aware of your surroundings while still enjoying your music. It features other clever features like touch control that can be activated by tapping the skin by your ear, and volume that adjusts to match your environment. No matter where you are or what you’re doing, you’ll feel like the main character with your personal playlist constantly playing.

Samsung Eco Remote

Forget about batteries—Samsung’s new Eco Remote charges via WiFi. You’ll never have to worry about your remote running out of juice again. In fact, the remote doesn’t even have a battery within its casing. Instead, it holds a capacitor capable of storing small amounts of energy that it gathers from 2.4-GHz RF signals nearby. What happens if your WiFi goes out? Don’t worry, you can also charge your remote via USB-C or solar power in a pinch.

Streaming and on-demand services are hotter than ever. Many people are choosing to “cut the cord” to cable TV altogether and replace it with newer viewing options.

HidrateSpark Pro smart water bottle

HidrateSpark claims their latest design is the smartest water bottle ever invented. Made of stainless-steel vacuum-insulated material, the HidrateSpark Pro smart water bottle keeps your drink cold for up to 24 hours. The LED smart sensor glows to remind you when it’s time to drink. In the HidrateSpark app, you can track your water intake and customize the colors of your sensor.
